What is the difference between facial fat grafting & facial implants?

If you want to rejuvenate your face and restore volume and definition, facial fat grafting and facial implants are both excellent options. But what is the difference between facial fat grafting and facial implants, and which procedure is the right one for you.

Facial fat grafting
Facial fat grafting or fat transfer rejuvenates the face using a patient’s own fat reserves. Common donor areas include the abdomen, flanks, and thighs. The fat is processed and then injected into specific parts of the face where there is volume loss.

Facial implants
Facial implants are designed to restore facial contours, and are typically placed in the cheeks and chin. The outpatient procedure is done using local or general anesthesia, and the implant is inserted via an incision made in the targeted area.

What’s the difference between facial fat grafting and facial implants
Facial fat grafting and facial implants both address facial volume loss, but fat grafting is considered more natural, since it uses the patient’s own tissue. This is in contrast to facial rejuvenation which uses implants that are synthetically derived. There is always the risk of an allergic reaction to the implant, but there’s no chance of that with facial fat transfer.

In addition to adding volume to the face, facial fat grafting also minimizes the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Fat grafting can be used on virtually all areas of the face including the cheeks, lips, and lower eyelid region, but facial implants typically focus on the cheeks and chin.

rhinoplasty

What Symptoms Can Functional Rhinoplasty Cure?

If you’re like most people, you probably don’t realize that rhinoplasty is more than a cosmetic procedure, so there are times when it’s done to correct defects in the nasal structure. These defects often disrupt breathingand also cause other issues that have to be corrected with functional rhinoplasty. But what symptoms can functional rhinoplasty cure.

Functional Rhinoplasty
Functional rhinoplasty is done to correct abnormalities of the nasal structures. There are different functional rhinoplasty procedures that can fix the various complications that can affect the nose.

What Symptoms Can functional rhinoplasty Cure?
Functional rhinoplasty focuses on alleviating symptoms related to the obstruction of the nasal airways.Symptoms associated with airway obstruction include breathing through the mouth, nasal congestion, reduced sense of smell, dry mouth, nosebleeds, and sinus headaches (click here for more info).

What causes nasal obstruction?
Nasal obstruction may be due to various factors including a deviated nasal septum as well as enlarged turbinates.

The nasal septum is comprised ofbone and cartilage and separates the nasal passages. If the nasal septum is twisted or bent (deviated), it can obstruct the flow of air into the nasal passages. Septoplasty is the operation that is done to correct a deviated septum and improve airflow.

The turbinates are bony projections on the side wall of the inside of the nasal passage. If the turbinates become enlarged this can also obstruct airflow in the nasal passages. Turbinate reduction surgery is done to reduce the size of the turbinates, and open up the airways.

cheek lift

Am I a good candidate for a cheek lift?

If your cheeks have suffered the effects of gravity and have started to look flat and sunken, a cheek lift may be helpful for you. A cheek lift improves facial contours and gives the face a more youthful appearance. If you’re wondering – am I a good candidate for a cheek lift, its best to consult with a board certified plastic surgeon for an evaluation.

Cheek Lift surgery
A cheek lift is a surgical procedure that is performed to enhance the cheeks, and is often included as part of facelift surgery. It addresses the portion of the face below the eyelid along with the area that extends down to the side of the mouth. Lifting the cheek region restores the youthful fullness to the cheeks, as it lifts the cheeks upward and outward, and also softens marionette lines(lines at the sides of the mouth).

The incision for cheek lift surgery is typically made just under the lower lashes, which is the same area in which the incision is made for lower eyelid surgery.

Am I a good candidate for a cheek lift?
If you have volume loss in the cheeks as well as sagging skin in the midface, you may be a good candidate for a cheek lift.Loss of volume in the cheeks gives the midface and the area below the cheeks a sunken appearance, but a cheek lift will reposition sagging cheek tissue so as to improve facial contours. It also elevates the cheeks upward and outward.

What Skin Concerns can be addressed with facial implants/fat grafting?

If you’d like to rejuvenate your face, and achieve a fresher, more youthful appearance, there are a variety of options to choose from, including facial implants and fat grafting. But what skin concerns can be addressed with facial implants/fat grafting.

What skin concerns can be addressed with facial implants/fat grafting?
One of the major causes of aging is facial volume loss, as it contributes to wrinkles and sagging skin. The loss of fat, especially in the cheeks, jawline, and eye area makes facial contours more pronounced.Facial implants and fat grafting can both address the problem of facial volume loss.

  • Facial implants improve facial volume and rejuvenate contours in areas such as the cheeks and chin. The procedure involves the use of implants to enhance the balance and proportion of the face. Implants are most often placed in the cheeks, chin, and jaw. However, the type and size of the implants used will depend on your specific aesthetic goals.
  • Facial fat grafting or fat transfer is a minimally invasive procedure that involves moving fat from one part of the body where there is excess, and transferring it to the face. The fat is first harvested using a gentle liposuction procedure and is then purified, before being injected in the sunken areas of the face. Fat transfer can be used to add volume to the cheeks and hollows below the eyes. It can also soften the appearance of wrinkles such as marionette lines and nasolabial folds.

threads for skin tightening

How do threads smooth and tighten the face?

Are you looking for a simple way to take years off your face? The fast-growing ThreadLift may be the answer for you. AThreadLift is a non-surgical facial rejuvenation procedure. But just how do threads smooth and tighten the face.

What is a ThreadLift?
A ThreadLift is a procedure that uses special threads to smooth wrinkles and tighten sagging skin. These lifting threads can be used in several parts of the face including the eye area, cheeks, jawline, jowls, and neck.

There are several types of threads or sutures that are used to perform a ThreadLift, including the PDO absorbable sutures. These are safe, dissolvable sutures that are composed of polydioxanone.

How threads smooth and tighten the face
The threads are inserted into the face just under the skin, using a tiny needle. They are then pulled tight in order to elevate the skin and underlying muscle, and this makes the skin tighter and smoother.

The threads are absorbed by the skin over the following 4-6 months, and this triggers the skin’s repair process and stimulates collagen production. The results typically last for about 12 months, but this depends on the type of threads used.

Are you a good candidate?
Men and women with mild to moderate sagging of the skin are the best candidates for a ThreadLift. Younger individuals get better results since their skin has a greater capacity to produce new collagen.
