If you’ve decided to have breast augmentation and found a board certified plastic surgeon you’re comfortable with, there are still some important decisions you have to make about surgery. Specifically, you have to determine what type of breast implant would be right for you.
Types of breast implants
There are two main types of breast implants – saline and silicone implants. Saline implants contain sterile salt water, and silicone implants contain silicone gel. Breast implants are also available in different shapes and sizes. Round implants and tear drop shaped implants are the most common shapes.
What type of breast implant is right for me?
Selecting the breast implant that’s right for you is essential, because it can make all the difference to the final outcome of your breast enhancement surgery.
The ideal breast implant for you will depend on the look you want, and your specific body type.
If prefer more natural looking breast augmentation results, tear drop shaped implants may be the right option for you, because they closely mimic the contour and shape of the natural breasts. However, if you would like your breasts to be fuller at the top, round implants would be the better choice.
The most appropriate breast implant size for you will depend on your body type, and chest measurements. If you have a small frame it’s not a good idea to choose overly large breast implants, unless you want to achieve an ultra-enhanced look. Ideally, the breast implants you opt for should be proportionate to the shape and size of your body.
