How soon can I wear a bathing suit after Liposuction procedure?

Many women opt to have liposuction done to get their body bikini-ready for summer. If you want to look your best when that time comes, one of the most important questions to ask your plastic surgeon is – How soon can I wear a bathing suit after liposuction procedure?

Liposuction for abikini-ready body
If you have some stubborn fat bulges that won’t come off despite a healthy diet and a regular exercise regimen, liposuction may be a good option for you. Liposuction can smooth and contour your abdomen and flanks, and also sculpt your thighs.

How liposuction works
Liposuction is usually done on an outpatient basis. There are a variety of liposuction techniques, but the procedure typically involves the use of a cannula (small tube) that loosens the fat. The tube has a suction attached that suctions away the excess fat, and sculpts the body.

How soon can you wear a bathing suit after liposuction?
Most people are able to resume normal activities about 7 days after liposuction, since most of the swelling and bruising should resolve by that time. However, this may vary, because depending on the extent of the liposuction procedure the swelling can persist for up to 5 weeks.

So if you’re planning a vacation after liposuction you should be ready for the beach, and able to comfortably wear your bathing suit about 5 weeks out from your liposuction procedure. Your body should be in good shape by that time.
