How long is the recovery time for a full body lift?

Have you undergone dramatic weight loss but don’t feel contented, because of all the loose skin that’s on your body. Body lift surgery can give you the extra help you need to feel comfortable in your skin. It will contour your body and restore a toned appearance. But just how long is recovery time for a full body lift.

Body lift surgery
Body lift surgery is typically recommended after massive weight loss, because theexcess skin won’t snap back into shape, so surgery is the only way to tighten the skin. Redundant skin is most often found on the abdomen, breasts, hips, back, and upper arms. A full body lift is designed to contour areas on the upper and lower body.

A circumferential incision that extends around the entire area of the lower torso is generally required for surgery, to remove excess skin around the abdomen and flanks.  Other procedures such as an arm lift are done depending on the areas where the loose skin is concentrated. During the procedure the surgeon will remove the excess skin and fat, and tighten the underlying muscles, in order to tone and contour the body.

How long is the recovery?
It takes about 2 weeks to recover from a full body lift. Most patients with a desk job are able to return to work after this time, but heavy lifting should be avoided for another 4-6 weeks.
