How is I-Lipo different from traditional Liposuction?

If you would like to sculpt and shape your body, but you’re wary of thepain and risk of traditional lipo, there are very effective alternatives like I-Lipo to choose from. I-Lipo contours the body by reducing fat cells, and smoothing the appearance of cellulite. With I-Lipo, you can lose inches off your body in just one hour. But how much is I-Lipo different from traditional liposuction?

I-Lipo vs Traditional Liposuction
I-Lipo and traditional liposuction differ in their approach to the removal of fat. During I-Lipo the laser energy heats up and breaks down the fat cells, causing the fat deposits to be discharged into the bloodstream. The fat is then metabolized by the body.I-Lipo is great for problem areas such as the thighs and abdomen. Exercise is normally recommended post treatment, to ensure that the fat deposits are completely eliminated.

With traditional liposuction, a cannula or small tube is used to break up the fat deposits. The fat is then removed via a suction attached to the cannula. There is typically significant pain and bruising after the procedure. Downtime is significant, so patients have to take time off from work and from their normal exercise routine.

The I-Lipo Difference
I-Lipo is a non-surgical treatment that requires no incisions and no anesthesia. There is also no risk of infection, and no downtime. In addition, there are side-effects such as scars, bleeding, bruising, or other discomfort.  I-Lipo treatments are quick, as a session takes 1 hour or less. It typically requires about 8 I-Lipo sessions to achieve the desired outcome.

For best results with I-Lipo, it is always recommended that you consult a well-trained,board certified plastic surgeon.  Clients in Orange County can contact Kyle Song, MD, of Song Plastic Surgery, Irvine, CA, for more information. Call949-701-4454 today and schedule a consultation with Dr. Song.
