How can I enhance my microneedling treatment?

Microneedling is a popular skin treatment that restores younger looking skin, and makes the complexion fresher and brighter. Recently, physicians have been combining microneedling with other treatments to achieve even better skin rejuvenation results. But just how can you enhance your microneedling treatment.

Microneedling
Microneedling (collagen induction therapy), is a skin rejuvenation technique that uses a roller device with tiny needles to make micro-injuries on the surface of the skin. These microscopic injuries kick-start the skin’s repair process, which generates cell renewal, along with the production of collagen that makes the skin plumper and firmer.

When performed alone, microneedling can treat a variety of skin irregularities including fine lines, wrinkles, discoloration, acne scars, enlarged pores, and stretch marks. However, it’s possible to get even more powerful results by combining microneedling with radiofrequency (RF) energy, or platelet rich plasma (PRP) therapy.

Microneedling and RF energy
RF Microneedling uses advanced radiofrequency energy alongside microneedling, to revitalize skin tone and texture. RF energy is used in skincare to heat the deep tissues and stimulate collagen, so combining it with microneedling delivers optimal collagen induction. It also treats skin issues such as scars, wrinkles, and fine lines.

Microneedling and PRP
PRP is a procedure in which the patient’s own platelets are used to accelerate healing. Platelets are derived from the blood and are loaded with growth factors, so when injected into the skin, they trigger the growth of new cells. When PRP is applied after microneedling treatment the platelets are able to penetrate deeply into the skin through the micro-injuries created. As a result, the skin rejuvenation results are more dramatic.
