How much can liposuction cost

How much can liposuction cost

If you’re thinking about getting liposuction, cost is a critical consideration, because the procedure is not usually covered by health insurance.  It’s therefore essential to get an accurate cost estimate from a board certified plastic surgeon that specializes in body contouring surgery.

How much can liposuction cost

According to 2018 statistics from the American Society of Plastic Surgeons the  average cost of liposuction is $3,518.  However, the actual cost can be a lot higher, because variables such as surgeon’s fees, anesthesia fees, and facility fees are not factored in.

Factors that can impact the cost of liposuction

  1. Surgeon fees:  A surgeon that has more experience and greater expertise, is likely to charge more for liposuction than a less experienced surgeon.
  2. Liposuction technique:  When liposuction is performed using advanced technology, it typically costs more than surgery done using traditional liposuction techniques.
  3. Areas being treated: Costs will be higher when liposuction is being done on larger areas that require more time, such as the abdomen or thighs. Liposuction will also be more expensive if multiple areas are being treated.
  4. Location: Liposuction generally costs more in large cities like New York and California that have a higher cost of living, than it does in smaller towns.
  5. Facility: Liposuction performed at the surgeon’s office or surgical center, is usually less expensive than surgery performed at a hospital.

When considering liposuction it’s never advisable to make a decision on price alone, the experience and reputation of the surgeon should be the most important consideration.

What’s the difference between SlimLipo and Traditional Liposuction?

What’s the difference between SlimLipo and Traditional Liposuction?

If you need to reduce stubborn fat bulges and contour your body, liposuction is certainly the ideal solution. Liposuction is a proven and true fat reduction method, but thanks to technological advancements there are now alternatives like SlimLipo available. But what’s the difference between SlimLipo and traditional liposuction.

Why liposuction may be a right for you

There are fatty deposits in certain areas of the body that are very difficult to reduce, even with healthy eating and regular exercise. Liposuction can trim them for you. The abdomen, flanks, thighs, and upper arms are common areas for liposuction (learn more).

What’s the difference between SlimLipo and Traditional Liposuction?

Traditional liposuction is a surgical procedure that eliminates fat from the body using a cannula. A cannula is a small thin metal tube that is inserted into the fat layer under the skin through tiny incisions. The cannula is moved back and forth to break up the fat, which is suctioned out with a vacuum that is attached to it.

SlimLipo is a laser lipo system that uses laser wavelengths to gently melt the unwanted fat cells. This differs from the fat reduction method used for traditional liposuction. SlimLipo is equipped with two distinct wavelengths (924 nm and 975 nm), so in addition to reducing fat, it tightens the skin with the 975 nm wavelength. Traditional liposuction does not tighten the skin.

SlimLipo is less invasive than traditional liposuction. It requires smaller incisions, so there is no scarring, and no tissues are destroyed (click here to learn more).

Is there a non-surgical Brazilian Butt Lift?

Is there a non-surgical Brazilian Butt Lift?

When the Brazilian butt lift came along women wanting to improve the appearance of their buttocks, were happy to have an alternative to synthetic implants. But since that time the demand for non-surgical cosmetic treatments has been increasing, but is there also a non-surgical Brazilian butt lift.

What is a Brazilian butt lift?
A Brazilian butt lift is a procedure that uses unwanted fat from other parts of the body to add volume, and change the shape of the buttocks. The fat is extracted using a specialized liposuction technique and is purified, before being injected into the buttocks.

Is there a non-surgical Brazilian Butt lift
Yes there is, and it’s actually a fast rising non-surgical cosmetic procedure. The non-surgical Brazilian butt lift represents the latest innovation in butt augmentation. It uses Sculptra, which is a long lasting dermal filler, to give the buttocks a fuller look.

Sculptra is a dermal filler that is derived from poly-l-lactic acid (PLLA), and is ordinarily used to correct facial wrinkles. It is a volumizing filler that stimulates the body’s collagen production.

How the non-surgical Brazilian butt lift works
The area is first injected with a local anesthetic, and after the area is numbed the physician will use a very fine needle to inject the filler into the buttocks. The number of treatments needed will depend on the level of augmentation desired. Results can be seen about 3 weeks after treatment and can last up to 2 years.

The non-surgical Brazilian butt lift is a good option for patients that don’t have enough fat to perform a traditional Brazilian butt lift.

Is Liposuction safe to perform under local anesthesia?

If you need to get rid of unwanted pockets of fat and sculpt your body, liposuction is the number one choice. Each year thousands of men and women in the US undergo liposuction, in a bid to get the slimmer, sleeker body they desire. The procedure has traditionally been performed with general anesthesia, but is liposuction safe to perform under local anesthesia.

Liposuction is a safe and effective way to eliminate small localized areas of fat that are unresponsive to diet and exercise. It is commonly used to contour areas such as the abdomen, buttocks, hips, thighs, and arms.

Is liposuction safe to perform under local anesthesia?
Yes liposuction can be safely performed under local anesthesia. In fact, performing liposuction with local anesthesia has become the preferred option for many plastic surgeons because there is less risk involved. Most patients that have liposuction using this technique get good results.

The process of performing liposuction under local anesthesia is also known as tumescent liposuction. It involves the injection of large amounts of a diluted local anesthetic into the area targeted for liposuction.Injecting the solution in the subcutaneous fat below the skin helps to reduce the amount of swelling and bruising. It also minimizes bleeding during and after the operation.

Whether liposuction is being done under general or local anesthesia, patients should make certain that the procedure will be performed at an accredited facility by a plastic surgeon that has the necessary skill and experience with liposuction.

How soon can I wear a bathing suit after Liposuction procedure?

Many women opt to have liposuction done to get their body bikini-ready for summer. If you want to look your best when that time comes, one of the most important questions to ask your plastic surgeon is – How soon can I wear a bathing suit after liposuction procedure?

Liposuction for abikini-ready body
If you have some stubborn fat bulges that won’t come off despite a healthy diet and a regular exercise regimen, liposuction may be a good option for you. Liposuction can smooth and contour your abdomen and flanks, and also sculpt your thighs.

How liposuction works
Liposuction is usually done on an outpatient basis. There are a variety of liposuction techniques, but the procedure typically involves the use of a cannula (small tube) that loosens the fat. The tube has a suction attached that suctions away the excess fat, and sculpts the body.

How soon can you wear a bathing suit after liposuction?
Most people are able to resume normal activities about 7 days after liposuction, since most of the swelling and bruising should resolve by that time. However, this may vary, because depending on the extent of the liposuction procedure the swelling can persist for up to 5 weeks.

So if you’re planning a vacation after liposuction you should be ready for the beach, and able to comfortably wear your bathing suit about 5 weeks out from your liposuction procedure. Your body should be in good shape by that time.
